Phoenix Arizona’s Henri Benard is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, most widely known for his work as “dread Ned” with internationally touring band Okilly Dokilly. He also is a member of several Phoenix based groups: CHKLZ, Dry RIver Yacht Club, The Hourglass Cats, Clint Stevens, and kabarett. Henri is also a member of the internationally acclaimed Street Drum Corps and plays kit for Dove of the desert methodist church. Currently, Today, henri continues to perform on nationally and internationally, with past festival and Touring appearances in 46 US states, Canada, Mexico, Ireland, UK, and Norway, with more dates to come, both nationally and internationally, in 2019/2020.

Okilly dokilly just finished tracking Howdilly twodilly with Jalipaz Nelson at audioconfusion during November/December 2018 and January 2019. howdilly twodilly was released march 29, 2019 and the band has been picking up major steam since then, with April 2019 appearances at paste magazine, Alternative Press, and Rolling Stone. The band’s sophomore release also recently made it onto “Favorite local music of 2019 so far” by phoenix new times, and they are set to embark on a series of dates throughout the us, uk, Europe, and Australia between now and march 2020.

CHKLZ recently dropped their debut EP NO WALLZ on April 12, 2019, debuting the EP in it’s entirety on kWSS. henri also recently tracked percussion for the hourglass cats and Clint Stevens, with “choice chillington” by Clint Stevens being released June 28, 2019 on roots musician records and the hourglass cats dropping a video for their latest single “esta bien” in February 2019 by glide magazine.


Benard is also the founder of Preschool Music Program Wee Rock Music, operates his own private lessons studio in scottsdale, AZ, and serves as adjunct faculty in the music business program at Mesa Community College. As a writer, his work has been published in Phoenix New Times and Modern Drummer, and his new children's drum book, Wee Beats, Wee Eats, is set for release in late 2019/early 2020. He also is an accomplished dj under his alter ego, DJ Ill choppo, and is currently serving as the entertainment coordinator for tempe festival of the arts.

Benard also co-scored the 2012 feature-length documentary, The Immigration Paradox, with Tobie Milford. Active in the music industry for more than 16 years, Henri is also extremely experienced in production, artist management, booking, merchandising, copyright, graphic design, promotions, licensing, teaching, publishing, and live and studio performances.
